What was gonna be said about my recent bike ride

Yknow, I was gonna write about finally going on a mountain bike ride in the woods behind my parents house, after almost two months of waiting. I was gonna explain the reason Id been waiting so long was because I wanted the terrain to dry enough that I would actually ride my bike more than Id carry it.

It was gonna be a post about how it was so good to finally get out and do some actual mountain biking (even on the beginner level Im at); how nice it was to explore the trails and such. It was gonna say how muddy my bike got (cause there was still some muddy spots out there), how much pain I was in when I was done... and how much I fucking loved it.

It was gonna involve a picture Id have taken of my shoes and my bike, being all muddy-like. It was gonna mention how much fun I had, how much Im looking forward to it again and how upset I'll be if it rains again (which is what the forecast calls for soon).

It was gonna say all that... till I realized Ive said all those things, in some form or another many many times already. So I figured Id spare you this time. You can thank me later.

Even not saying all that this time... will I say them again soon? Theres a good chance.

Too much power

Whenever I open up my browser, my start page is always the Apple Netscape homepage. It came up once when I started up a browser years ago, and Ive always liked it for my news and such.

Bringing it up today, I came upon an article titled "Bush Pushes Gay Marriage Ban." I immediately had to click and read as this new proposed federal ban on gay marriages makes me sick to my stomach.

Just a few quotes: In bold at the beginning, "President Bush says legalizing gay marriage would redefine the most fundamental institution of civilization and that a constitutional amendment is needed to protect it." Midway through the article, "hat sends a message to the next generation that marriage has no enduring meaning, and that ages of moral teaching and human experience have nothing to teach us about this institution."

But my favorite is this, right at the beginning of the article... "If courts create their own arbitrary definition of marriage as a mere legal contract, and cut marriage off from its cultural, religious and natural roots, then the meaning of marriage is lost and the institution is weakened."

Talking that legalizing gay marriage will weaken the meaning of the union... that makes a lotta fucking sense, since statistics show 50% of "real" marriages (according to their definition) end in divorce.

Why not let gays and lesbians get married? I mean, since we heterosexuals have done such an admirable job of keeping its meaning pure and dignified. I know plenty of gay people, even as few a number as that is, that deserve to be happy in marriage... more than quite a few "normal" people Ive known and seen.

A little bit o' that rock & roll

I just realized I forgot to mention I went to a concert this past Sunday. Yeah, I did. Only the 4th concert Ive ever been to, as embarassing as that sounds. Man, how sad am I? Shut up... dont answer that.

Me, my bud Marc, his wife and my other bud Devon went and saw Puddle of Mudd, Nickelback and 3 Doors Down at the former Starlake Ampi-theater, now Post Gazette Pavilion in Burgettstown, PA.

Concert

Was a good show, all three bands were excellent and I must say a good time was had by all. I was actually pretty popular at this show for some reason.

At the first break, Marc and I went to one of the bars to grab another drink. While in line, a group of girls were behind us with one of them mentioning that it was so humid, that if she had balls, shed be sweating them off right now. Curiosity must have gotten the better of her... cause the next thing I know, she asked me if I was sweating my balls off. "I dunno" I replied, not really thinking about it... to which she replied, "Why, havent you touched them in a while?" With full sarcasm mode going I shot back, "No theres too much hair, I cant tell." The conversation progressed from there with her and her friends, asking about my tattoos, what my name was, and at one point with her asking me if I use baby powder to help out the sweating issue, to which I replied, "No, I use barbecue sauce."

It was an interesting exchange, lots of laughs and such with a group of drunk girls.

At the next break, as marc and I were again walking to the bar for another drink... some woman, as shes walking by Marc and I, rubs my head quickly and says, "Supersition, sorry." That one caught me off guard, so all I had in return was, "Youre welcome."

An interesting night overall... as well as a good one.

Now if I can only get all of us to stop going places that require winding roads, thatd be much better... as my tendency for car sickness doesnt give me a good time with winding roads.

Unofficially speaking

FYI... this website is not the official website of Jason Fellows. I was as shocked to find out as you obviously are... and I know youre shocked, or you better fucking be.

It would ruin this whole post if youre not shocked, or at least slightly disturbed... and I know you dont wanna do that.

Back to my point though, since this isnt the official website of Jason Fellows, there would have to be an official one, right? Right. And so I must inform everyone that this is the official website of Jason Fellows.

p.s. - Now if Jasons middle name is different than mine, that would also fuck up this post... so for this post, he doesnt have a middle name and neither do I.

On vacation...

In years past, I always put a little "on vacation" splash page, signifying I wasnt around. For some reason, this year I decided not to. All you get this year mutherfuckers, is a post saying I am incognito.

Gonna be gone for the week, starting today (Sunday the 25th) and ending late next Saturday, the 30th. First year Im taking my laptop, of course since this is the first year Ive owned one (or been paying a bank to let me have one in a few years)... so hopefully there might be somewhere I can use it.

Plus I figure since Ive been doing the one post a week thing, since forever it seems... itll only be a vacation to me, since weekly is the frequency you "see" me anyway; not like youd know I was gone.

Bye bye.

P.S. (Monday 7/26/04) - In what seems to be some strange, although nice twist... my laptop has been picking up a stray wireless internet signal around here somewhere. So despite my cel reception sucking major ass... I actually have internet access (although possibly temporary) in the last place I thought I would.
